We had seven dining room chairs in the garage, taking up space. I wanted to use them, but they were old and rickety (they are my great-grandmas wedding set from 1915.) It was on the mile long to-do list, and looked like they were never going to get done.

Enter teenager looking for money. Christian was offered $5 a chair to re-glue/screw/nail six of the chairs and make them useable and safe. He finished today. He had to use an L-bracket on one, but that's ok because in the spring we are going to stain/paint them.
I plan to refinish all of the wood furniture a black distressed color. Hard to imagine, I know. Kind of like this picture I had in my "ideas" file, but have no idea where it came from to give credit.

So anyway, we were able to eat our big turkey dinner on the "new" chairs. They make a creaking sound when you move that reminds me of dinner in my great-grandmas country kitchen.
